Police are placing more armed personnel at police stations across the city of Kota Kinabalu as a measure to boost security.
District police chief Asst Comm M. Chandra was quoted as saying in a report by The Star Online that this was also part of a training to respond to any kind of threat.
“This will also enable us to assess the level of discipline and preparedness of our personnel,” he said in a statement, assuring that security in the capital city of Sabah was ‘under control’.
He also dismissed social media rumours that questioned the state of security in Kota Kinabalu due to the increased presence of armed cops.
