Monkeys overpower postman at army camp, escape with ‘confidential’ documents

A group of monkeys reportedly snatched ‘confidential’ documents from a postman at the Terendak Army Camp in Malacca two days ago.

According to a report by The Star, the macaques had overpowered a postman who was on his rounds at the camp and grabbed three documents before escaping with the loot by climbing trees and a roof.

The daily said the 33-year-old postman was injured during the encounter with the apes. Authorities are now tracking down the ‘suspects’.

A police report has reportedly been made over the incident.

Meanwhile, Malacca’s National Park and Wildlife Department’s director Noorzakiahanum Mohd Noh told The Star that this was not the first time such an incident has occurred.

“There have been previous cases of attacks at the army camp, school and even the mosque inside the camp,” she was quoted as saying.
