Malaysia’s vaccination centers are clearly turning into a costume fest, with vaxxers arriving as a dinosaur, the pocong, and now, Money Heist thieves.
Four people dressed in signature red and Salvador Dali masks from the popular Netflix show showed up at the Ixora Hotel in Penang recently but didn’t steal anything. They simply came for their COVID-19 injections and a side of some TikTok fame. A video of the quartet has been viewed more than a million times since it went up yesterday.
Money Heist tells the story of a criminal mastermind known as The Professor and his plans to pull off the biggest heist in history with the help of eight top criminals.
The video was shared to the platform by user Iliyapengou, who wrote in the caption: “Usually only foreigners but today a troop of money heists come to our centre.”
The four disguised as TV criminals were filmed registering themselves at a booth and waving at the camera before proceeding to the waiting area. Some viewers wondered whether they actually had dirty tricks up their red sleeves, while others were just amused.
“How long have they been planning to rob the place?” TikTok viewer Ashe asked.
“Malaysia’s vaccination centers have become like Comic Con,” Naimmura96 said.
About 70% of the adult population in Malaysia has been fully vaccinated.
