Well, that escalated quickly! Malaysia’s queen of urban pop Mizz Nina surprised her legions of fans when she decided to wear the hijab late last year, after performing the Haj. Now, she’s taken a firmer spiritual stand in regards to her artistic endeavours as she’s decided to only perform in front of female live audiences.
“I will only sing for a female audience now. This is the decision I have made,” she said to BH Ahad after launching her clothing label’s World Hijab Day workshop.
Her husband, Hujan frontman Noh, supports her decision.
With a hefty collection of achievements and accolades, Nina says she has no regrets leaving the music business she’s been a part of for years, preferring instead to focus more on her boutique and production company.
