Missing 12-year-old girl from Subang Jaya found with alleged abductor in KL

A 12-year-old girl in Subang Jaya who was reportedly abducted by her family’s domestic helper on Tuesday has been found. And she’s safe.

Phew.

The Star Online reports that the girl and the Indonesian woman were seen walking around aimlessly in the city centre, some 16 hours after the girl’s parents realised she had gone missing from her home at 5.30am yesterday.

A Facebook post by SJ Echo on the disappearance of Puteri Nurkyra Izam Abdullah and her maid made the rounds on social media leading to media reports almost immediately.

According to Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohammad Azlin Sadari, Puteri Nurkyra and her alleged abductor were found with the help of people at the Al-Rahman mosque at Jalan Pantai Baharu.

“The suspect has been detained. We were alerted of the discovery at about 9.30pm,” he was quoted as saying.

He added that the woman had tried to check into a hotel but could not do so as she did not have any travel document with her.

The girl, ACP Azlin said, had been under the impression that she was going ‘sightseeing’ with her ‘kakak’ and left a note to her family telling them not to look for her.

“I can’t really explain because I’m still confused by what happened. I just need to sleep,” the girl was quoted as saying, adding that her abductor been protective of her.  The case has been classified as abduction.

We’re glad you’re home safe and sound, Kyra.
