Miri housewife allegedly whipped by husband after serving him cold food

A housewife from Miri had to suffer the wrath of her husband after she reportedly served him cold food.

According to a report by The Star Online, the incident reportedly happened at about 4pm on Sunday at the couple’s home in Kampung Jagus Lambir, Miri.

The 34-year-old woman was allegedly whipped repeatedly by her husband, a poultry farmer, with a belt and a cane after he was unhappy that he was served cold food.

As a result of the alleged beating, the woman reportedly suffered bruises and scratches on her legs, arms and body.

Unable to stand her husband’s constant abuse, the woman lodged a police report on Sunday evening.

Miri police chief Asst Comm Khoo Leng Huat told the news portal that the police have arrested the 33-year-old man, and he will be remanded until Friday to facilitate investigations.

“In the latest incident, he whipped his wife with a belt after complaining that the food she gave him was already cold.

“Investigations so far show that he has been beating her repeatedly,” ACP Khoo was quoted as saying, adding that the victim has scars all over her body.

According to ACP Khoo, the suspect would also whip his wife when she fed her pet dogs.
