Minister: God will not forgive lies about 1MDB said during Ramadan

The federal minister in charge of Islamic Affairs reminded Malaysians today not to fall into the trap of becoming “keyboard warriors” spreading lies about Putrajaya’s initiatives like the 1MDB, as such lies were unforgivable, espcecially in the Muslim holy fasting month of Ramadan.

Jamil Khir Baharom, who serves as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, said there have been many lies told online about the country’s sovereign development fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad.

“It takes two people to use their tongues to (tell lies) but keyboard warriors, WhatsApp users can do it by themselves even at two or three in the morning,” he said today, as quoted by Shazwan Mustafa Kamal of The Malay Mail Online

“Sins of the tongue may be forgivable, but what you write online on the internet is there until the end of time…so it won’t be easy to apologise to the whole world (if you have lied).”

Okay, sir.
