Mini drug lab uncovered inside temple near Ipoh

They were probably praying hard to avoid getting caught, but their cover ended up blown eventually.

In Ipoh, police uncovered a drug processing laboratory hidden inside a temple in Jelapang and arrested five members of the syndicate .

A Bernama report states that a team from the Perak Narcotics CID found the mini lab and RM1.14 million worth of methamphetamine at the house of worship off the Ipoh-Lumut Highway.

Perak police deputy chief Datuk Hasnan Hassan said the drugs, including 11.9kg of liquid methamphetamine, were meant to feed the drug habit of 40,000 addicts.

“The suspects, aged between 19 and 46, are from Perak and worked as labourers or are unemployed but have previous criminal records for drugs,” Hasnan was quoted as saying.

Five motorcycles were also seized.
