MH370: One of two stolen passport holders identified

At a news conference in KLIA, Ispector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar revealed that investigations have identified one of the two passengers of missing Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 as an Iranian national.

Khalid identified 19-year old Pouria Nour Mohammad Mehrdad as having used a stolen passport belonging to 30-year old Austrian Christian Kozel to both enter Malaysia and to exit the country on board Flight MH370. Pouria is beliveed to have been planning to emigrate to Germany using the stolen passport. 

Khalid added that Malaysian authorities are communicating closely with their Iranian counterparts in the investigation. He also said that Malaysian investigators determined Pouri’s intention to emigrate to Germany based on their communication with his mother, currently residing in Frankfurt. She contacted authorities in Malaysia after she lost contact with her son.
