The Malaysian Meteorological Department has once again dismissed rumours that another earthquake would strike Sabah.
It released a statement today denying that it had issued a warning about a 5.9 to 7 magnitude earthquake in Sabah between 9pm and midnight.
More information from the department is available at its website http://www.met.gov.my, or m.met.gov.my or the department’s Facebook and Twitter.
Since the 5.9 magnitude earthquake that killed 18 people struck Sabah on June 5, rumours have been circulating over social messaging platforms of impending earthquakes in the state as well as other states in the Peninsular.
