Meteorological Department dismisses Sabah earthquake rumours

The Malaysian Meteorological Department has once again dismissed rumours that another earthquake would strike Sabah.

It released a statement today denying that it had issued a warning about a 5.9 to 7 magnitude earthquake in Sabah between 9pm and midnight. 
 

 

Siaran Media: Penafian Mengenai Gempa Bumi Susulan Akan Berlaku Dalam Masa Terdekat Dengan Magnitud 5.9-7.0 Skala Richter pada Jam 9.00-12.00 malam Di Sabah.

Since the 5.9 magnitude earthquake that killed 18 people struck Sabah on June 5, rumours have been circulating over social messaging platforms of impending earthquakes in the state as well as other states in the Peninsular.
