The longhouse that they stayed in at Kuarters KTMB Jalan Lengkok Abdullah, became engulfed in flames at about 10:00am this morning, with five nearby engines along with 60 firefighters being sent to the scene. It took them approximately two hours to bring the flames under control.

Although images from the scene captured dramatic flames and plumes of black smoke, no one was injured in the blaze.

Authorities say that in addition to the long house that were razed, 11 cars and six motorbikes were also burned.

Despite the fact that flames raged next door, many residents of neighboring flats decided to stay inside their homes throughout the ordeal, and found themselves stuck in thick smoke as the fire affected floors five through seven of their building.

Y’all we can’t believe we have to say this but — if the lot next door is on fire, it’s best just to wait it out on the street until officials have things under control. No word on what caused the blaze.
