MAS closes MH370 support centres in China

Malaysia Airlines has closed its Beijing support centre for the families of passengers on board missing flight MH370, while insisting that the company would continue to inform relatives of latest developments.

The national carrier announced that it would also close support centres in six other provinces.

“As has been communicated to the family members, Malaysia Airlines will continue to provide information and maintain communication with the NOK via several platforms,” the airline said in a statement as reported by Bernama.

In the face of these closures, the airline said it has established hotlines for the next-of kin to get updates.

More information, MAS said, would also be available on its official MH370 website: http://www.mh370.gov.my

On March 8 last year, the Boeing 777 carrying 239 people vanished from radars shortly after taking off from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on a red-eye flight to Beijing, sparking one of the greatest mysteries in aviation history.
