Make room at the buffet, and watch out at the Forever 21 sale racks, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla are coming to visit Malaysia next month. It will be their first official visit, and 31 million Malaysian can now breathe a collective sigh of “FINALLY – Selamat datang, what took you two so long?”
The visit is part of a wider tour that celebrates Great Britain’s partnership with Commonwealth nations in the region. India and Singapore will also be included as part of their stops.
Not on the list? Myanmar. First, Oxford university takes down their portrait of Aung San Suu Kyi. Then she gets stripped her designation of the honor of the Freedom of Oxford. Now comes news that the Prince and Camilla have decided to leave Myanmar out of their tour. Seems like genocide is bad PR for the man hoping to be King.
Charles, the Prince of Wales, and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, will start their visit to Kuala Lumpur on Nov 3, after their trip to Singapore on Oct 31.
On their to-do list is a gala dinner celebrating 60 years of diplomatic ties, as well as visits to Sarawak, and Perak to find out more about wildlife conservation. In Sarawak, they will meet members of the indigenous community.
Their trip will conclude in George Town, Penang, where they’ll visit members of Malaysia’s diverse community.
This sounds great, BUT. BUT. Guys, here me out – for real. I know you have a busy schedule. However, if you don’t visit Tek Sen, and get the twice-cooked pork, then the joke is on you. It is magic, and a must for anyone who indulges in a bit of babi.
Ok that’s all. Hit up Coconuts KL if you want any tips on must-sees, the best banana leafs, or if you want guest list, k? We got the city on lock-down.
