Hide your weed, rolling papers, pipe, plants, bong and bhang: the Narcotics Department is coming for it.
Unsatisfied with busting the self-titled, marijuana Robin Hood Dr Ganja last month, the feds are hitting local growers as well.
Earlier this week saw the arrest and seizure of one couple’s marijuana growing operation. The husband and wife team, 29 and 31, also run an online cosmetics business. Records on their personal computers show that they had previously been studying what equipment was needed to successfully grow the plants. Always, ALWAYS clear your search history kids, and remember the Incognito tab isn’t just for stalking your exes.
Police had initially detained them after a tip-off let to their Myvi being stopped. Police found 8.99 grams of ganja in the vehicle, and later searched the suspects’ house in Puchong. Thirty-eight plants were seized in total, in addition to more compressed ganja, special lights, and weed-friendly fertilizer to give those plants their best chance at a THC-filled life.
The plants were being grown both on the couple’s balcony, and in a temperature-controlled room inside the condo.
Police say the plants were no more than 5-6 months old, and that this was the couple’s first attempt at a growing operation. They believe that the couple was going to sell their goods on the local black market, really ganja’s only market, when ready for harvest.
Fourteen other individuals were nabbed in targeted raids that ran from Saturday to Tuesday, with over 33.4kg of compressed ganja seized.
Sounds like the beginning to a great weekend police. Good work.
