An unfortunate tale of guilt, regret and tragedy from Marang – a 28-year-old municipal council worker killed himself after believing that his wife was dead.
Mohd Dzulkifli Islaim, 26, was believed to have stabbed his wife in a fit of anger prior to committing suicide, The Star Online reports, quoting Terengganu CID chief Asst Comm Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Hamzah.
His wife, Sofia Talaha, 26, had actually survived the knife attack and was being treated at the Hospital Sultanah Zahirah in Kuala Terengganu.
He was found lying in a pool of blood in his Kampung Gong Beris house at 6am yesterday. The portal said that the knife used to attack Sofia was found next to Mohd Dzulkifli’s body.
“We are investigating the motive of the incident. There are other aspects that we are looking at including financial burden and what the argument was about,” ACP Wan Abdul Aziz was quoted as saying.
