Man shot at point blank range during prayer ritual

A man posing as an observer of a religious ceremony in a home in Kampung Selamat, Penang shot his victim at point blank range during a ritual.

The 34-year-old victim had been in the middle of a conducting a prayer ritual when the shooting took place at 11pm.

The New Straits Times’s Predeep Nambiar reports that the gunman pulled out his weapon and shot Lee Wooi Sheng and his friend at point blank range.

Lee’s friend succumbed to the injuries at the Kepala Batas Hospital.

North Seberang Prai district police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rahman Ibrahim said the case would be investigated under Section 302 for murder.
