Man shot point blank in Jalan Kuchai Lama as he was on a date with a married woman

A businessman out on the town for some forbidden love with his married girlfriend was given a permanent stop order when he was shot dead in front of a beauty parlour in the NSK Commercial Area in Jalan Kuching Lama last night.

The 6.15pm incident saw the 43-year old victim from Mentakab, Pahang dying on the spot from injuries sustained from a gunshot fired at point blank range to his head.

The suspect has been described as having worn a blue T-shirt, face mask, and a black motorcycle helmet.

Harian Metro‘s Kalidevi Mogan Kumarappa reports that the shooting took place as the victim and his girlfriend were exiting a nearby hotel to have dinner.

Witnesses say the shooter had been loitering by a nearby security guard post while wearing his helmet and face mask, making positive identification near impossible.

“The man waled right up to the victim and shot him twice before leaving the area,” a witness at the scene said.

The victim and his girlfriend were something of a regular sight in the area, where they would meet for overnight stays at the hotel and for dinner.

The girlfriend, believed to be a Chinese national, was nowhere to be found after the shooting

Brickfields district police chief ACP Shahrul Othman Mansor said the victim had a police record for old violations, including a drug-related charge.
