A man was seriously injured in an explosion at Bagan Sungai Besar Village jetty on Wednesday night, reports The New Straits Times.
Sungai Besar Fire and Rescue Station officer Mahadi Jonit told the daily that the man was carrying out repair works on a van at the jetty when an air conditioning tank exploded.
According to Mahadi, the victim, whose identity was yet to be known, was rushed to the Sabak Bernam Hospital by members of the public.
Mahadi said the department received a distress call at 8.34pm and it took firemen more than 15 minutes to put out the fire, which had by then engulfed the van.
“From initial information received, the victim, who sustained serious injuries to his head and body, was conducting repair works on the van when the incident happened,” he was quoted as saying.
