Don’t take it out on the guy at the counter. Please.
A man, seemingly incensed at being charged the Goods and Services Tax (GST) for a plate of nasi kandar, punched out an employee at a nasi kandar restaurant in George Town, Penang, yesterday.
In the 1.30pm incident at a restaurant in Jalan Padang Tembak, Air Hitam, the customer (who will most likely never eat there again) became agitated when told he had to pay the extra 6% for a meal he had with a friend.
The Rakyat Post‘s Zalinah Noordin reports that the man began to hurl obsceneties at a Bangladeshi staff member of the restaurant, before throwing the packet of nasi kandar he wanted to pay for onto the floor.
He then punched the restaurant worker in the face, and left the premises.
The guy wasn’t done – not by a long shot. After about 10 minutes, the man returned to the restaurant on a motorcycle, whipped out a parang or machete, and smashed the restaurant’s front display window with it before fleeing again.
Northeast Penang district police chief ACP Mior Farid Alathrash said police had arrested a 39-year old man to assist in their investigation of the incident.
“The case will be investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation,” said Mior Farid.
Maybe lay off the cholesterol and go on a diet, dude. You seem crazy stressed.
