A 41-year-old man was killed in front of his home at midnight last night after being attacked by three men armed with guns and a sword in Taman Sri Gadong, Klang.

The incident happened at 12:17 am, and the police were informed of it five minutes later, according to South Klang district police chief ACP Cha Hoong Fong.

The victim was discovered lying on the ground covered in blood by police officers who had been dispatched to the location. A medical team later declared the man dead.

Investigators say the three attackers shot him several times and attacked him with a sword.

Closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) footage at the scene showed that a Nissan Almera had approached the victim and stopped by the roadside.

“Three men then alighted from the car and shot the victim five to eight times at close range and also attacked him with a parang before they escaped in the same car.

“Investigations revealed that the victim, 41, had 10 prior criminal records, including major crimes like kidnapping,” Cha said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Cha said that the police forensics section had identified a number of objects that would help with their murder inquiry under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Cha urged anyone with information regarding the killing to contact the case’ investigating officer ASP Mohamed Syahrir Zabidi at 012-26650895 or the South Klang district police headquarters at 03-33762222.
