A man in Kuching was reportedly arrested while checking in for a flight at the Kuching International Airport today for attempting to make a joke about a bomb.
According to a Bernama report, the man had said that there was a bomb in a box he was carrying at the check-in counter. He was due to fly to Kota Bahar at 10.30am, but obviously, that did not happen.
The news agency also reported that three other departing flights were forced to be rescheduled because of the man’s not very amusing joke.
“When checking in, he told the counter staff that he had a bomb in a box he was carrying. The counter staff immediately lodged a police report and he was arrested,” Bernama quoted a source as saying.
Kuching Police Chief ACP Abang Ahmad Abang Julai reportedly confirmed the case.
