A man in Bandar Baru Bangi apparently ran amok yesterday, slashing his 7-year old daughter to death and sseriously injuring two of his other daughters, aged 10 and 12.
Selangor Police deputy chief DCP Datuk Abd Rahim Jaafar said that the incident happened at about 4.15pm.
Initial police investigations indicate the man had armed himself with a parang when his 15-year old daughter came home and heard alarming noises from inside the house.
She encountered her father who was acting aggressively and immediately started screaming for help. Her brother, who had locked himself up in a room on the top floor of the house, called out to tell her to run for her life.
The girl managed to join her brother in the room where they put out a call to the police.
When the police arrived, they found three of the man’s daughters lying in a pool of blood. the 7-year old was already dead, while the other two were unconscious from numerous slash wounds.
The man was found by police at the side of a river, about 300m from his house. He was found writhing in pain, and with serious head injuries. He apparently suffered the head wounds from his attempts to jump across the river.
Rahim says the suspect and the victims were sent to Kajang Hospital.
The man’s wife was away at work when the incident took place.
