Man jumps to his death at Mid Valley Megamall after texting his brother goodbye

It was supposed to be a family outing for two brothers, but little did the elder brother know, that would be the last time they would see each other.

A 22-year-old man is believed to have jumped to his death at Mid Valley Megamall on Saturday night.

According to The New Straits Times, the man is believed to have jumped from the fourth floor of the mall’s car park at around 11.30pm.

Brickfields district police chief Assistant Commissioner Sharul Othman Mansor told the daily that the man had gone to the mall with his elder brother.

The elder brother, who is a policeman, had reportedly gone to pay his phone bill and returned to their car to wait for the man.

“While waiting, he received an SMS from his younger brother.

“In the message, the younger brother said he wanted to kill himself and wanted to say goodbye,” he was quoted as saying.

The man’s body was found sprawled near the mall’s entrance.

ACP Sharul told NST that the man’s remains were sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.
