Man found dead in fishing net near Bagan Serai; cops say it was murder

The remains of a man were found wrapped in a fishing net in Kuala Kelingsing, near Bagan Serai, Perak yesterday, and police have determined that the grisly find was the result of a murder.

A post-mortem report revealed that the deceased, believed to have immigrated to Malaysia recently, had suffered a serious head injury before he was tossed into the ocean, says Kerian district police chief Superintendent Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob.

“The report by the Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun in Ipoh found that the deceased was stabbed with a sharp object on his head,” he told the New Straits Times‘ Rahman Khairulrijal.

The PDRM are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code, for murder.
