A 34-yea-old man has died after tragically falling into a giant pot of boiling water near Alor Setar, Kedah. He has been identified as Ahmad Azril Faizal Azmi, a former soldier.
Law enforcement report that the incident occurred on Sunday at about 6:30pm.
The added that the victim was “mentally unsound,” without detailing precisely what that meant, and had suffered a seizure. During his fit, he managed to fall into a nearby pot of boiling water. His father had been cooking lemang nearby, and came to his aid as soon as he heard the commotion. However, when he arrived, his son was already badly scalded by the water.
The Star reports that the man was taken to nearby Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, but was later pronounced dead. Police reports have classified the incident as “sudden death.”
