Three days after taking part in the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSM) 2022, a runner who had collapsed at the race passed away in a hospital in Kuala Lumpur without regaining consciousness.
Abdul Rahman Kifli, 47, was discovered unconscious at Jalan Dang Wangi during the KLSM 2022 event at 6:01 am, according to the organisers.
“He was administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation before being immediately taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) in an ambulance.
“He remained unconscious and on life support since then but unfortunately died earlier today (Nov. 16).
“On behalf of everyone associated with KLSCM, we would like to convey our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
“The family has requested privacy and no further details will be released in respect of their wishes,” the organisers said in a brief statement posted on social media.
The cause of death was not revealed to the public and it is unclear if he had any prior health issues.
