A man was burnt to death in his car after the vehicle caught fire in an accident near Besut early Friday morning.
According to a report by the New Straits Times‘ Zarina Abdullah, the man was believed to have lost control of the Perodua Alza he was driving in the 5am incident.
The vehicle reportedly skidded and rammed into a bridge. It then burst into flames, consuming the whole vehicle with the man inside.
State Fire and Rescue Deparment public relation officer Rozizah Abnihajar told NST that by the time firemen reached the scene, there was nothing left to save.
“We are in the process of tracing the victim’s identification,” Rozizah was quoted as saying.
The man’s remains have been sent to the Besut Hospital for post mortem.
