In what appears to be a revenge killing, a man and a woman, aged 21 and 23, were slashed to death while another man was critically injured outside a pub on Wednesday.
According to The Star Online, the incident occurred at a pub along Jalan Dutamas 1 at 11pm on Wednesday.
Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy told the news portal that the attackers were wearing masks and armed with parang.
“We received a call via MERS 999 that a man armed with a parang had slashed another man in front of a pub here.
“Based on CCTV footage from the area, two vehicles had stopped in front of the pub and at least six suspects armed with parang and wearing masks got out.
“One of the suspects approached the victims who were sitting in front of the pub and began brutally attacking them while the other suspects were seen going into the pub.
“The attack was swift and the suspects fled the scene moments later in the same vehicles they came in,” he was quoted as saying.
The victims were reportedly pronounced dead at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital. The other victim, whose identity has yet to be ascertained, is in a critical but stable condition.
“A post-mortem on the two victims revealed that they died from multiple wounds caused by a sharp object. Following the murders, we arrested six suspects at around 2am on Thursday,” ACP Munusamy told The Star, adding that the suspects had been remanded for seven days to help facilitate investigations.
ACP Munusamy added that the suspects were aged between 20 and 33.
“Based on our investigations we believe the attack was motivated by revenge.
“We have classified the case as murder,” he was further quoted as saying.
