Malaysia’s youth party, Muda, will not hold back if they are provoked again by protesters at their events after a group of unruly youths interrupted their ‘Mega Muar’ town hall event last night in Muar, Johor.
According to a news report by MalaysiaKini, during the speech of Muda’s president Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman, a group of 20 people arrived on motorbikes and allegedly incited a shouting match with Muda members including its supporters.
In his speech, the incumbent Muar MP and former youth minister briefly talked about his contributions to his constituents in the past term.
As a result, some of the unruly youngsters continued to call Syed Saddiq a “penipu” (liar), prompting Muda volunteers and supporters to yell at them to “balik” (go back). It also led to Muda calling the auxiliary police to handle the situation.
Clips of the incidents have also made their rounds on social media.

The youngsters stayed at the site and tried to make more noise by revving their motorcycles despite being asked to leave.
Syed Saddiq’s communications officer, Farhan Iqbal, told Coconuts the party is prepared and will not hesitate to defend themselves if last night’s event occurred again.
“We will not fight but we will defend ourselves if we have to.”
“We don’t want to waste our time handling these things. It’s a nuisance,” Farhan said.
Farhan alleged that these youngsters were paid by a political party to create chaos at last night’s event.
“There were locals that confirmed that Umno members were present within the group.”
“Many of us overheard them saying, ‘we were paid to make noise so we make noise’,” he added.
During the last general election in 2018, Syed Saddiq won a 6,953 majority vote and secured the Muar parliamentary seat.
Now, Syed Saddiq will run for office through Muda, a party he co-founded that intends to enter into an electoral agreement with Pakatan Harapan for GE15.
Last week, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri announced the dissolution of parliament to make way for the country’s 15th General Election (GE15).
The decision comes after months of pressure from Umno leader Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to dissolve Parliament and hold a snap election. However, it has raised concerns considering Malaysia is about to experience its annual monsoon season soon which displaced more than a hundred thousand people last year and left 54 dead.
