In the middle of everything that’s going on in Malaysian politics, a cat has managed to grab the country’s attention from outside the Royal Palace.
The white and beige feline was captured in a viral video distracting some security officers stationed at one of the gates yesterday, looking for attention and pets, while the rest of Malaysia waited for updates on the country’s leadership as political leaders streamed in and out of the premises. The minute-long video of the cat has been viewed more than 100,000 times since it surfaced online this morning by Twitter user Nicol Covid.
Others reacted to the heartwarming video with memes and GIFs.
“This brought joy to my evil shriveled heart,” one of them said, together with a GIF of Ezma from The Emperor’s New Groove.
“Dia cam tak tahan tengok kucing tu (He seems like he couldn’t resist seeing the cat)..aaaahh…MUST.TOUCH.IT!!!…so sweet,” Twitter user Blinded said, referring to one of the officers.
“Hehehehehehey managed to attract the attention of the police brother,” said Saudagar Inai, attaching a smirking cat with the post.
Is it a crime to be adorable? Someone jokingly asked whether the cat would get fined for “obstructing” an officer.
“Can this cat be fined? Obstructing officers on duty/teasing/licking. What else? There are many offenses here,” Twitter user @MasturaJojo said.
