When Malaysia’s biggest DJ duo Goldfish & Blink announced in May that they were slotted to play at the world’s biggest EDM festival Tomorrowland, it was a huge boleh moment for the country. It’s not every day that your hometown crew gets to share the line-up with the most famous names in the industry like Armin van Buren, Solomun and Martin Garrix.

Four hundred thousand visitors came through over the weekend, which took place outside of Boom, Belgium, each paying upwards of RM2,500 just for a ticket. That’s not including accommodation (add a few more thousand), or that RM50 bottle of water you will end up buying. That’s if you were lucky enough to snag tixx. The festival sold out within hours this year.

Last weekend, Goldfish & Blink had their self-professed dreams come true, and made the country proud, by playing the big-time.

Incredibly, Malaysians were in full-force all the way across the world in Belgium. Pictures from the set show several Malaysian flags flying at the front, along with state flags from Sabah and Kelantan, showing them how proud we were to see our country on the international stage.

It’s enough to make even the biggest EDM naysayer get a little moist in the eyes. What? It’s dust. Give me a moment.

Big props to the boys, incredible what you’ve done. The future is bright. For real.
