A Malaysian woman has been abandoned by her Bangladeshi husband at an airport in Chittagong. The husband ran off with both her passport, and documents. They had been married for five years.
The couple, who reside in Malaysia, were back in Bangladesh to visit her husband’s family in the village of Faridpur. She could not remember exactly where the village was located.
Police found the woman, confused and wandering the halls of Shah Amanat International Airport, and she was taken aside by immigration police for questioning.
She told them that she arrived a month prior, and they were scheduled to fly out 30 June back to Malaysia.
While she is currently in Bangladesh receiving assistance from officials, the reasons for her husband’s sudden departure remain unclear.
