In a recent tour of Tawau, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah were met with great enthusiasm from the local residents.

During their visit, people displayed their joy by waving the Sabah state flag and the national flag, eager to take photos and greet the royal couple.

However, the most notable moment of the visit occurred when a local woman openly addressed His Majesty about the deplorable condition of the local roads.

The incident was captured in a widely shared social media video, earning the woman admiration from netizens for her bravery in voicing her concerns directly to the head of state.

In the viral video, His Majesty could be seen driving his own vehicle, and he rolled down the window to engage with the public. Seizing this unique opportunity, one woman expressed her grievances, saying, “It’s terrible; our roads are terrible, and we even have flooding, Your Majesty.”

Upon hearing her complaint, The King responded, “The roads, you say?” and immediately instructed his accompanying officials to make a note of the issue.

This video has since gone viral, with netizens applauding the woman’s courage in addressing a problem directly to the King, a responsibility traditionally reserved for interactions with local MPs or ministers.

Let’s see if the roads will get fixed.
