Malaysian who drove through Singapore’s Woodlands checkpoint jailed 8 weeks

A Malaysian driver who drove through the Singaporean immigration checkpoint at Woodlands without stopping has been sentenced to eight weeks in jail.

Koh Chin Had, 42, is the third motorist to be arrested this year for breaking through security at the Woodlands checkpoint.

Koh faced two charges: one for failing to stop his vehicle at the checkpoint on April 13, and the other for failing to present his passport to the authorities. Koh pleaded guilty.

Investigations revealed that on the morning of April 13, Koh was driving through Johor Baharu, intending to drive from his house there to a JB temple for prayers. He allegedly lost his way and found himself at the Johor Baharu immigration checkpoint. He did not have his passport on him at the time.
