The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department was recently called to a home in Kota Kinabalu to assist a distressed toddler whose right arm became trapped in a speaker.
The response team received an emergency call about the incident at 3:41pm on Tuesday, according to The News Straits Times.
The mission to free the child from her misfortune took an eight-person team that was dispatched to Taman Kinamount, Lorong Pelanduk.
Misran Bisara, the Fire and Rescue Department’s assistant director of operations, said that the child’s mother had requested assistance.
When they arrived at the house, they discovered the three-year-old child crying and with her entire arm trapped inside the audio system.
“The fire and rescue team managed to pull out the victim’s hand from the speaker using a special tool,” Misran said in a statement yesterday.
According to him, the rescue operation took them 20 minutes.
The victim was given initial treatment by Emergency Medical and Rescue Services. Fortunately, she did not need further treatment at a hospital.
