A Malaysian student who was hospitalised after a hostel fire in Russia last month, has died.
Bernama reports that the medical student, Nur Atikah Alias, 25, who was among the 27 Malaysians injured in the incident at the Russian National Research Medical University, lost to her injuries at 2.30pm yesterday.
She reportedly died at the Skifosovsky Hospital in Moscow. The Malaysian embassy in Moscow has been making arrangements to bring Atika’s remains home.
At 11.30pm on April 23, a fire broke out at the 16-storey off campus hostel injuring more than half of the 40 Malaysians living there at the time. One more student is reportedly still being treated at the hospital while the other have been discharged, an embassy spokesman told Bernama.
