Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to have a meeting with Elon Musk, the CEO of the electric car giant Tesla, tomorrow.
When asked about the timing of the meeting, the prime minister simply stated, “Tomorrow.”
He made this comment while speaking to reporters at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre today, following a dialogue session with enforcement agencies.
Anwar previously mentioned that Musk had expressed interest in meeting him to discuss the potential for expanding Tesla’s investments in Malaysia.
The prime minister emphasized the importance of attracting new investments to the country in order to boost income and alleviate the current debt, which stands at RM1.5 trillion.
“To address the urgent need for job creation, it is crucial to enhance both domestic and foreign direct investments,” The Vibes quoted the prime minister as saying.
In March, the electric vehicle maker announced that it will open a head office in the country as well as establish a network of charging stations for its cars.
