Malaysian missing in Nepal: Search may move to new location

The search for Malaysian businessman Dennis Lee Thian Poh — who went missing while trekking in Western Nepal on April 5 — may move to another location, after attempts to find the 47-year-old at the Khopra Danda Track proved unsuccessful.

Bernama quoted Malaysia Embassy Counsellor/Charge d’Affaires in Kathmandu, Fadli Adilah as saying that there has yet to be any concrete leads to the Lee’s whereabouts.

He said the search and rescue team comprised of 21 people from Nepal’s police as well as independent trekking agencies.

Lee had been trekking in the Ghorepani area with eight of his colleagues from the Philippines when he disappeared. The Malaysian government has since offered a reward of 200,000 Nepali rupees (RM7,350) to anyone with information on Lee’s whereabouts.

Lee’s friends and family have also rallied together to ask for support and information through a Facebook page.
