As a country that welcomes millions of tourists every year, the communication between Malaysians and foreigners can often become hilarious, confusing or both.

However, that’s not the case for this Sabahan grilled chicken seller, who wow-ed the internet with her *chef’s kiss* Korean while speaking to a customer from the region.

The vendor, based at the Kota Kinabalu night market, can be seen explaining the food she sells to her client in the 29-second video that Instagram user @myweekendplan reposted.

As she places their order in a black plastic bag, she tells the customer the cost of her grilled chicken and then expresses gratitude for their patronage.

“Five pieces of chicken wings cost RM6. How do you want it?” She asked the tourist in Korean.

Her ability to converse in a foreign language was a jaw-dropping moment for internet users who complimented her.

“If this sister worked in a Korean custome service company, she would be paid thousands!”

“This sister doesn’t need subtitles when she watches Korean drama”

Apparently, it is quite common for vendors in the KK area to be able to communicate in Korean as the state receives quite a significant amount of tourists from the country.
