Indonesian police shot a 57-year-old Malaysian man in a drug raid in Medan, Sumatra yesterday. The victim has been identified as Chin Yoo Fah, or Acin to colleagues, who was working as a cook at the location.
Tribun News reports that police received a tip-off that a suspect was transporting drugs, and that the shooting occurred only after police orders to stop were not heeded. The man was later apprehended, along with an accomplice.
Four kilograms of syabu were seized from the two suspects.
Three more men were arrested later in the day. The trio have been identified as Tan Siong Tiong, Joni Aguan and Susanto Santo, and also had significant amounts of syabu with them.
Police have said that Siong Tiong and Joni were also shot dead when they tried to escape.
One thing is certain, there are no lack of bullets in the Medan police department.
In total, 15 kilograms of syabu were seized. Authorities believe they were smuggled into the country via Malaysia.
Fair enough Indonesia, if we can blame you for the haze, we’ll take the hit for the syabu.
