Wanna learn how to make soya sauce chicken rice like Michelin-starred chef Chan Hon Meng?
The good news is; he’s putting up his recipe on sale.
But the bad news is; you probably couldn’t afford it.
According to a report by Singapore’s Shin Min Daily News, the 51-year-old chef is looking to sell the recipe for at least RM6.1 million!
The daily reported that Chan has been approached by several big corporations from Taiwan, China and Vietnam; all wanting to get hold of his recipe.
But Chan told the daily that he had no interest in selling his recipe to those who are not in the food industry.
“They said they will provide the finances, and me the expertise, but it is not so easy. They are willing to open factories, but how will they be run?” he was quoted as saying.
However, Chan revealed that he is currently in talks with a global food and beverage company, which, he added, has the relevant experience.
They even offered him share options.
“Manpower is a longstanding problem in Singapore, so I want to spend some time studying the details and work out a win-win deal for both parties,” he was quoted further as saying.
Chan told the daily that he’s considering the deal because he is getting older, and he does not know how long he can continue running the stall.
Last month, the Malaysian-born hawker received a Michelin star, making his Liao Fan Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle stall one of the cheapest Michelin-starred eats in the world.
