Turn your lights down low, Malaysia: Our country’s population has increased to 32.2 million in the third quarter of 2017, according to the national Statistics Department.
This is a 1.3% increase from 31.7 million at the same time, last year. The country’s chief statistician, Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin added that from one year to another, there were 400 more live births, bringing the total to 129,900 over the year.
Great news for those who love living – while births are on the up, deaths rates have taken a downturn, by 200 exactly, from 40,900 recorded deaths in Q3 of 2016, to 40,700 in 2017.
