US News has just published a their annual “Best Countries” list in partnership with advertising agency Y&R and Wharton Business School, and our fair country has managed to crack the top 5 of Best Countries to Invest In. We’re #4! We’re #4! Hey, now!

The ranking has cited our country’s highly skilled workforce, and a pro-business government, with making Malaysia such an attractive destination for investment dollars.

According to UN data, direct investment flow has remained steady, despite a decrease in number in other countries in the region.

Another key factor in our appeal? The study wrote that the government’s dedicated investment website, MIDA (Malaysian Investment Development Authority), also made it easy for would-be investors to explore their options when looking at where to park their interest. Whether you’re looking for tax incentives, or government grants, MIDA’s website can give you all of the information you need.

There was incredibly strong Southeast Asian representation, with pole position going to the Philippines, followed by Indonesia at number two, and Singapore coming in at five. Can’t win them all, Lion City.

As the saying goes: fake it ‘til you make it, and looks like we’re getting there.
