Malaysia air quality worsens, nine areas record unhealthy levels

Sibu, Sarawak was the worst-hit among eight other areas in the country as air quality reached unhealthy levels today.

Sibu read 155 on the Air Pollutant Index. Other affected areas include Putrajaya (120), Petaling Jaya (105), and Cheras (123) among others, according to the Department of Environment.

An API reading between 0 to 50 is good; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy; and above 301, hazardous, The Star Online reported.
