Lorry crushes mother and son in horrific Sepang accident

As they were trying to avoid an incoming car, a mother and son were killed when a lorry ran over their car in Sepang.

Teacher Norhalina Ahmad, 47, and her son Al-Akmal Hafiy Darwisy Kadapi, 19, were en route to a school in Damansara in her Toyota Avanza at 7.15am yesterday when the tragic accident happened.

They were travelling along Jalan Salak in Sepang when a Perodua Viva from the opposite side of the road swerved into their path, forcing Norhalina to swerve out of its way.

The redirect brought them into the path of a lorry directly behind the Viva, which then rammed into the Avanza, crushing both mother and son in the process.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations chief Mohd Sani Harul told The Star Online‘s Nicholas Cheng his officers spent about an hour cutting into the wreckage to extricate the bodies.

Norhalina and Al-Akmal died on the spot from extensive injuries sustained to their heads and bodies.

Acting Sepang OCPD Superintendent Abdul Aziz Ali said the police have arrested the female driver of the Viva, and are holding her for further questioning.
