Police are puzzled with the discovery of the body of a male, aged between his 30s and 40s, in a river near Sugai Galah, Perak, three hours outside of Kuala Lumpur. Visibly injured on the back of his head, he also had his throat slit, and leg tied to a motorcycle in an attempt to weigh the body down.

Members of the public alerted police of the discovery of the rotting body Tuesday, after the corpse became tangled in a tree branch, and rose to the surface. Authorities suspect that the body had been dumped two days prior to its discovery, but a postmortem has yet to confirm this.

Badly bloated, and wearing only jeans, the victim carried no identification papers nor documents that could reveal who he was, nor how he ended up in the river. Police have described the male, of small stature, measuring around 153cm tall, and weighing 50kg.

Officers urge anyone who has a missing loved one to contact them, as they open a murder investigation into the victim’s brutal end.
