An unnamed CEO of a local telco was arrested at Dubai International Airport in possession of drugs this past September.
Widely-watched national television stated in their report stated that a Malaysian gentleman in his 40s was repatriated Tuesday, following incarceration in the United Arab Emirates over the offence.
Initial reports indicate that the man was arrested on September 18, having arrived from Amsterdam. Customs officials found the illicit substance stashed in his suitcase. The drugs are believed to be cocaine.
The local boss was held in the airport detention center for two weeks prior to his sentence.
New Straits Times has speculated that the unnamed CEO will hold a press conference later today.
