Local politician bends over, gets robbed of 18K

As of Monday, a local politician is RM18,000 poorer. He reportedly was robbed while coming to the aid of a man who was seemingly about to faint at a Seremban mall.

The victim reports he was going up an escalator when the man if front appeared to blackout. Several individuals went to his rescue, including the politician who had recently visited a money changer in the shopping complex. During the commotion to help, the politician had the 18K wad of cash swiped from his back pocket.

According to witness reports, the man who appeared to faint suddenly came to his feet and quickly walked away. It was only later that the politician realized that the fainting was used as a ruse to distract him, while he was robbed.

Local police have confirmed the incident, with Seremban OCPD Assistant Commissioner Thiew Hock Poh saying, “we have started our probe and we will see if there are CCTV recordings of the alleged theft.” He then added that police had yet to make any arrests.

Careful when you ah… bend over, kids.
