Maybe he thought he was auditioning for ‘KL Gangster 3’?
Local model and actor Ahya Rosli was fined RM800 in default three months jail by the magistrate’s court for punching an executive in the face in a scuffle last week, according to a report by The New Straits Times.
The 29-year-old pleaded guilty when the charge was read out to him by Magistrate Ahmad Solihin Abd Wahid on Monday.
Ahya, who starred in the local film ‘Tanda Putera’, was charged with voluntarily causing hurt to 31-year-old Mohamad Asrul Affendi Roseli at a futsal court in Setapak at 11.30pm on June 14, the daily reported.
Counsel Ahmad Ridza Mohd reportedly pleaded for leniency, claiming that his client could not control his emotion at the time of the incident, which led him to beat up Mohamad Asrul.
Deputy public prosecutor Noorelynna Hanim Abd Hanim Abd Halim, however, urged for a deterrent sentence.
According to court papers cited by the NST, Mohamad Asrul had gone to the Sentral Mark futsal court for a match with his friends when Ahya punched him several times on his face.
The assault reportedly left the victim with a black eye, a busted lip and a swollen face.
