Leader of the opposition, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, has sat down with his fellow coalition leaders, and declared that they must be allowed to form a government.
Speaking live less than an hour ago, he outlined that a country cannot go without government for more than 24 hours, and urged that the swearing in of a new prime minister happen immediately, if not before 5pm today.
Calling the matter urgent, he added he expects to be sworn in today, despite palace denials that this would happen.
He also declared a revision with certain agreements previously signed to with China, saying that it was not in Malaysia’s best interest to have the red dragon’s too close for comfort.
Reiterating his previous claim, he has also declared that his government will do away with the widely-disliked GST implemented by Najib and his government. It’s a bold move, and one that may fiscally hit the government in the short-term.
We’ll keep the updates coming as we hear them!!
